IT READS LIKE HE'S BOUNCING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE TWO.
How does Joy fit in??
Who is he actually MARRIED to??
Who does he LOVE??

The histories. . .do not make sense. . .together.
Therefore I need this cleared up RE: common sense/sanity.

They kinda do... O_o

Late this year James rolls around with Delta and she ends up pregnant with dear Jamey jr. James denies the kid is his because Delta's been with a lot of guys so she has no proof.

A few years later, Erie becomes worried that she won't be able to have kids so she orders James and Marina to make a baby for "Scientific purposes" while really she just wants to take the kid from both of them cause they have pretty good genes. She ends up pregnant months before John is born so she lets Rina keep her baby. Before John is even born though, Rina and James decide to tie the knot in hopes it'll keep them together.

Before John can even talk, James and Rina get a divorce with the belief that if they stay together one of them will probably end up dead. In jame's "sadness", Delta reappears and comforts him. They get married (I honestly don't know why) and Delta gets preggers with the annoyance named Delaney.

After that Delta and James remain together and a few years later Niles is born.

On MARINA'S side of the family:

She and David were always close but after about a year of them dating they decided to just stay as close friends instead of in a romantic relationship. After Marina and James finally divorce, David begins to help Rina out a lot, especially in babysitting. When marina adopts a little girl from Australia she tells David that Aalia doesn't like to speak so David makes sure Aalia gets the proper injections and then trains her in mind speaking.

Years later David finds Joy while on a mission and brings her back to the base. Erie puts Joy in his custody and David, while reliant about it, agrees to take care of the kid. He quickly realizes that he can't do it on his own and asks Rina if Joy can sleep over when he's on missions.

Years pass and evetually Marina gets annoyed when she begins to see that David is becoming an absentee parent. She tells him as much and he tells her that he was late this time because he was asking for more time off to take care of Joy. Marina says she's happy and then mentions how she wishes Joy could have a mother figure. And then David proposes.

A couple months later, they get married.

I can shed some light on the reason why James and Dellers get married. Y'see, it has to do with parent pressure. Allow me to explain.

James' mother Viviana is Italian, and, in typical stereotype, she's extremely family-oriented, as well as Roman Catholic, bringing the innate ability to cause guilt into the picture.

About three months after James' and Marina's divorce was finalized, the senior O'Connors paid a visit to the Toronto base to see their darling, innocent son who works as a minor administrator behind a desk.

Anyway, during the visit, they were introduced to both mothers of James' children. However, Marina knew to keep her mouth shut about just who Johnathan's father was - Niles and Viviana were told he was working overseas.

Delta, however, happened to let slip that James was Jamey's daddy.

Well, that about did it for Viviana. That night, James received the Mother Lecture of Doom - 'Why haven't you married her? Why aren't you supporting them? Haven't I taught you anything?' - and if there's one person James is terrified of, it's his mother. He is an absolute wimp when it comes to her, or his father.

At last, two months later, Niles and Viviana welcomed Delta and Jamey into the family when Antelope Girl married Leprechaun Lad. By this time, James had been thoroughly guilted into appreciating Delta more, and had also worked out, 'Hey . . . legal smex.'

Delta loves James. Completely. She isn't sure whether she would ever admit to him (or anyone else) how ENTIRELY she loves him, because secretly Delta IS afraid of rejection and doesn't want solid proof that James doesn't love her the way she loves him (she isn't sure). But she loves him. :)
