SPECIAL CHARACTER.
I am writing the bios of Claire Ames and Dr. Ethan Cage. Neither will be RPd (Unless someone REALLY wants it. >_>) and I’m really just writing and posting these bios to spark some interest in them and for fanfic reference.
CHARACTER INFO
*Basics*
Name: Ethan Eduardo Cage ((Technically, his last name is pronounced Kah-heh, but everybody pronounces it Kage so he’s used to it)).
Codename: His original code name was Lark, but he hasn’t done any actual spying or assassinating in years. These days he just goes by Dr. Cage.
Age: 39
Birthday: March 23rd.
Birthplace Barcelona, Spain.
Gender: Male
Specialization: Medicine and spying
Affiliation: Academy
*Appearance*
Eyes: He has the family bright blue eyes, slightly on the larger then normal side with natural arched eyebrows and longer then normal eyelashes.
Hair: He doesn’t like taking the time to cut and style his hair so it tends to grow fairly thick and long before he self trims it. His hair is a medium brown, fairly soft texture and pretty full. It’s always messy due to his lack of a hairbrush, not that his fan girls seem to care.
Skin tone: He IS Latin, but he has a much fairer skin tone then anybody in his family due to him spending the majority of his time indoors.
Ethnicity: Latin, although he has been mistaken for Caucasian a few times.
Special Markings: He has a large scar across his chest that starts at his mid chest, near the bottom of his rib cage and reaches all the way up to the lower right side of his neck; its part of the reason for his love affair with turtleneck sweaters. He got the scar during a mission with his brother in law (At the time, his partner and best friend) where he jumped in front of his partner to keep him from being cut in half. Besides that he doesn’t have any tattoos or any other major scars.
Height: 5’10” ((Height… does NOT run in the family))
General Appearance: Dr. Cage steals the heart of ladies everywhere, of both his fellow staff and the students he takes care of. Perhaps it his charming smile, or his straight nose, or perhaps it’s his soft as a baby’s bottom skin. Whatever it is, Dr. Cage goes about his day, his steps as silent as a ghost. His well built muscles are usually hidden by his clothes, but his admirers do love catching him in the gym where he works out topless.
Clothing: Dr. Cage’s everyday outfit is his white lab coat left open to show his black turtleneck sweater (in the winter) or simple black T-shirt (in the summer) and black dress pants. However, when out of the Academy he dresses normally, in dark blue jeans and sweaters. He loves his sweaters. While working out, he goes topless and wears only dark blue sweatpants and his ever present gold locket. In the locket is a picture of a girl he met when he was still a medical student. They became fast friends and he fell for her, but she died and he couldn’t save her. She gave him her locket and… well… more on the locket in his history.
*Personality*
Personality: Dr. Cage spends the majority of his day in the med lab, taking care of injured students or trying to cheer people up. He comes across as a very happy go lucky kind of guy, and most of the time he is. He understand how young and mentally scarred his patients are, so when they’re in his charge he likes to make them feel happy and safe.
He’s the only person in the school with a complete record of all the students that have been touched by Orycalcos, and he makes sure to try and meet with each of them as often as he can to make sure they’re doing alright.
Dr. Cage’s first love is his work, but his family is a close second. If he’s working on a patient and his niece comes in with an injury he’ll always go take care of her first. Same if it was one of her friends. He also doesn’t mind repeat patients. For example, he sees Zdena almost every other day because of her claws and he’s okay with it. After all, he prefers her talking to him about it then letting her try and fix the injuries on her own and risk further injury.
Whenever he can’t save someone he gets… very depressed. He has a tendency to take every death or bad injury personally. If someone becomes paralyzed due to an injury and he can’t do anything about it he gets angry. He tries to keep the kids from seeing him in a bad mood but it does happen, and he does get pretty scary.
He doesn’t drink, and he doesn’t smoke, but he may or may not be addicted to painkillers. Nobody else knows about it since he’s been hiding it for years, but he feels no guilt about doing it. He makes sure that he’s clean before operations or emergencies, and he tries to remain responsible. But one of these days he’s bound to slip up and it scares him. So he pops more pills, and forgets.
Likes: His niece, his niece’s crazy friends, his nephew, his sister, his brother-in-law/childhood best friend, medicine, sweaters, when the kids call him Dr. Cage, when people pronounce his last name right, painkillers, cheering people up, being right, helping people get better, lasagne, sleeping, Orycalcos technology (It’s a guilty pleasure, but it does interest him).
Dislikes: Skunks, smelly things, death or anybody dying, stupid kids that get injured for no reason, when people are sad, the idea of getting caught popping pills.
Fears:
- Rats. He REALLY doesn’t like rats. If he sees one he won’t scream like a girl but he might whimper and then walk out of the room really really fast.
- Cockroaches. He doesn’t even know where this fear popped out of. But if he sees one of these he will literally jump out of his seat and run.
- The idea of not being able to save one of his friends or family. His parents died when he was really young, so his sister and her family mean everything to him.
Hobbies/Pastimes: Besides popping pills and making girls fall in love with him with a single smile, Dr. Cage spends the majority of his time in his lab, trying to find “cures” for the Orycalcos injections. His current pet project is trying to help Shadow regain his eye sight. “- Which would be a lot easier if the kid would agree to the damn surgery already!” – Dr. Cage.
Quotes:
“Go away, Lily, I can keep working… I’m not… that… tired….”
“Another burn, Mossier? Why don’t I just give you the jar of salve to take home?”
“You know what this school needs? Sex ed. I get the feeling we’d lower the number of drop outs by at least half…”
*Life*
Family:
Celia Cage – Mother (Deceased)
Jorge Cage – Father (Deceased)
Lily Cage – Little sister
Kurt Dawn – Brother in law
Reya Dawn – Niece
Aryan Dawn – Nephew
Friend(s): The staff at the Academy
Crush(es): Dr. Cage DID have a love interest. She told him her name was Ella Dawson, the mysterious sister of the mysterious Evan Dawson. For months after meeting her, Dr. Cage dedicated his life to trying to find a cure for the illness that constantly tore at her. Before dying she gave him the locket that she always wore and made him promise to never give it away.
History: Born to Celia and Jorge Cage in Barcelona, Spain; Ethan was the oldest of two children. His younger sister, Lily was born only 11 months later, a premature and sickly child. While they’re parents worked on assassinating foreign ministers and gang lords in various countries, Ethan and Lily lived in the Academy, a newly created school for training spies and killers.
At the Academy, Ethan made fast friends with Kurt Dawn, the eldest son of the school’s founders. Kurt was a year older then him, but he took the boy under his wing and they quickly became the school’s biggest pranksters.
Life was great until Ethan and Lily were called to the office of Kurt’s father. There they were told that their parents had just been murdered while on a mission in Egypt. At the tender young age of twelve, Ethan was suddenly the head of his family and their enormous fortune. Kurt’s father put the majority of the kids’ money in a trust fund which was not to be touched until they were adults and enrolled both Ethan and Lily into the school.
Around this time, the 11 year old Lily was beginning to come out of her shell and with her childhood illnesses behind her; she quickly rose to the top of every class and gained a reputation as the smartest girl at school. Ethan on the other hand began to flunk classes while under Kurt’s influence. At last the two boys were separated when Kurt was sent on a mission with his father, and fourteen year old Ethan finally began to take his courses seriously.
By the time Ethan was sixteen he had a girlfriend. Her name was Erika, and she was Kurt’s little sister. They lasted roughly two months before Kurt returned and promptly put his foot down against it. Ethan couldn’t have been happier as he’d been afraid that Erika would put a knife in his back if he dumped her.
Kurt and Ethan became best friends again, and continued to be the Academy’s most notorious pranksters, but this time they made sure to keep their grades up.
When Ethan turned 18, he began to take some extra curricular courses in medicine, but he decided against pursuing it due to the fact that, at the time, only spies and assassins were allowed to stay at the Academy after their eighteenth birthday.
Three years later, Ethan was volunteering at the infirmary when Kurt ran to get him. The older boy told him that Erika had brought a pair of siblings to the Academy, and that one of them needed serious help. A young girl was brought to the infirmary, long black hair, blind white eyes, and the most beautiful voice Ethan had ever heard. This marked the first meeting Ethan had with Ella Dawson.
Over the next few days, Ethan spent most of his time in the infirmary with the girl. She had a broken arm and fresh cuts all over her body, as well as a grazed gunshot wound on her side; but as Ethan took care of her wounds he never once heard her complain. Eventually, she let it slip that Evan was her brother, but she never told Ethan where they’d come from or how Erika knew them.
Time passed by, and Ethan began to open up to her. He told her about his family, his fears about having to kill for a living, and how he wished he could just help heal people. She would listen without saying a word, only interrupting when she wished to sleep or needed something.
Roughly a month after meeting Ella, she let it slip that she wasn’t feeling well. Her wounds weren’t healing and her broken arm wasn’t setting right. The Academy doctor told her that her blood had been poisoned, most likely from something that had been on the bullet that had grazed her. Ella accepted her fate, but Ethan refused to. He became obsessed with trying to find a cure for her, with trying to get her to live.
After an emergency blood transfusion, it seemed that Ella was getting better, but only weeks after the operation she took another turn for the worse.
Three months after meeting Ethan, Ella asked him to stay overnight in the med wing with her. He set up a cot next to her and they spent most of the night just talking. She told him about her over protective father, and how he used to keep her inside every day because he was worried that she would get sick. She told Ethan about how she’d been born blind, and how her only wish was to be able to one day see things, and to see Ethan’s face. In return, Ethan told her about his back ground, and how he only had one memory of his parents, and that was of their funeral.
The next night, Ethan stayed with her again. This time Ella told him how she and her brother had different mothers, and how neither of them had ever met their mothers. He told her how he’d always been afraid that his sister would grow up faster then him and not need him anymore.
On the third night, Ella talked to Ethan about her locket. She said that her father had given it to her, and instructed her to keep it by her at all times. She told Ethan that she loved him, and that she didn’t want anything to ever happen to him. Then she gave him her locket.
The following morning Ethan woke up to find that Ella wasn’t breathing.
At her funeral, Evan commented on the disappearance of his sister’s locket but if he suspected Ethan of taking it, he didn’t ask for it back. A week later Ethan left for medical school in the United States. Five years later he returned to the Academy; a registered doctor and the “little” brother of his sister. (During this time, Erisia had been born, Lily and Kurt had gotten married and had Reya. And Blaze had been adopted after his parents’ death).
While he was now 26 years old, people were still mistaking him for being much younger. Cage couldn’t understand why until Evan came to talk to him. Evan told him about Orycalcos, and what their mission was. He told Ethan that his father had created a device that slowed the aging process, and then gave it to Ella when he was told that she would die from a brain tumour in her childhood. The tumour was successfully removed, but the effects stayed with Ella, making her weak and taking her childhood.
Evan told Ethan that if he took the locket off he would likely die within the week. It was a curse as well as a life line. With the locket, he could not age, and disease could not kill him. But there would be no escape from any disease that he might one day have. Ethan accepted his warnings and life went on.
Eleven years later, Evan and Erika were killed and their daughter went missing. Only a few weeks later, a student came to Ethan, complaining of muscle pains. Ethan studied the student and came up with unexplained results. Soon more students were coming to him with the same symptoms, and it wasn’t until he studied their DNA strands that he realized Orycalcos was involved.
His current mission is to try and find a way to reverse the effects of Orycalcos’ experiemtation.
*On the job*
Specialities:
- Spying
- Medicine
- DNA
- Poisons
Weapons: Dr. Cage doesn’t do much fighting anymore, but if pressed he can readily use almost anything as a deadly weapon, from a deck of playing cards to a pen. His favourite “weapon” however, would be short swords.
Battle style: Dr. Cage likes to get right into the middle of things. He lives for close combat, thus his favourite weapons are short swords. He doesn’t like guns because it feels like cheating.
Weakness: He doesn’t like to see people in pain, that’s his greatest weakness. He also doesn’t like killing people. He can still do it, but the second he starts thinking about the possible family of his victim he starts to hesitate.
Strengths: Not only is Cage a gifted doctor, he’s an amazing fighter too. He’s been training since he could walk, and if you pass him anything he can probably find a way to kill somebody with it. Pen? Stab their trachea. Sowing needle? Stab the eye then finish them off with something else.
RP SAMPLE {330 words}
Dr. Ethan Cage set his bags down by the door as he scanned his brand new room. He hadn’t been in Toronto since his sister’s wedding, and he hadn’t been in the Academy since he’d started medical school five years ago. Back then, he’d been a senior student with a single room dorm. Sure, he’d had the private washroom, but his room had left a lot to be desired. His new home however was… impressive.
He stepped further inside and began to look around as curiosity over took him. His door opened up to a makeshift living and dining room. The door on the right opened up to his a fair sized bedroom with the door right next to it leading to a rather large bathroom. On the other side of the living room, a third door opened to a spare room. He was standing here, considering how much it would cost to turn the room into a medical laboratory when he heard a knock on his door.
He had to smile when he saw the familiar looking brunette standing there. She broke out into a smile as well when she saw her brother, which made him gasp. He poked her cheek instantly. “You have wrinkles?’
He only barley managed to dodge the slap that came his way, smiling back up at her as he held his hands up in defence. “Sorry, sorry. My mistake. It must have been the light.”
She gave him a look that told him she wasn’t impressed. “Five years later… you’re still a dweeb. I think I liked you better when you weren’t here.”
Ethan had to smile as the opportunity presented itself. “Five years later you were still a virgin and I had to sleep outside of your room with a shotgun. I enjoyed being able to sleep at night.”
She slapped him again, this time making contact. “You’re the worst!”
He smiled as he rubbed his sore cheek. “I missed you too, Lily.” _________________ "Everybody smile please
