'I don't really want to just say it... but I guess you'll be able to figure it out yourself.'
Marina just had time to look at him quizzically before the image and it's accompanying wave of emotion hit her. Her breath stopped as she studied herself from David's point of view. When it finally faded, she exhaled in a rush, the words 'oh my gosh' coming out with the air.
'From the moment I met you, Marina, I knew that you were special. I love you, but I never for a moment thought that I was in your league. And I'm sorry I said those things about you before.'
As soon as he was finished, Marina slid off her bed, crossed to his, and hugged him. 'I'm sorry too. I shoulda seen it sooneh, I know, bu' I jus' . . . didn'. I'm so sorry.' She pulled back a little, enough that she could pivot and sit down next to him.
She paused. 'As f'you bein' out o' my league, I think it's the otheh way aroun'.' She smiled mischievously. 'Y'know wha' they say, though. Opposites attract.'
Stretching up a little, she planted a kiss on his cheek.

((Oh gosh, the cuteness is making me giggle. ^^))
David smiled as he felt her lips on his face. He ran a hand along the side of her face before slowly leaning towards her and planting a kiss on her lips.
'I don't think that first one at the club actually counted as a kiss.' He told her with a shy smile. 'Although I still did enjoy it, if not just because it was fun to see your reaction.'
He was silent for a moment before looking at her again with another blush. 'I hope this doesn't make things between us awkward now. I really do appreciate your friendship more then anything. You're the one person that can calm me down when I get frustrated.'

'I don't think that first one at the club actually counted as a kiss.' He told her with a shy smile. 'Although I still did enjoy it, if not just because it was fun to see your reaction.'
She nudged him lightly with an elbow. 'Watch it, pal, I 'aven't f'gotten that y'went an' in'errupted my fun. Still . . . .' She grinned. 'We migh' 'ave t'go back should things ge' borin'.' was silent for a moment before looking at her again with another blush. 'I hope this doesn't make things between us awkward now. Marina thought for a moment. 'Tell y'wha'. It eveh gets awkward, we go push James off the base roof in ordeh to'reconnect. Deal?'
ReyaDawn- 01-10-2009
David grinned at her, fully contemplating the idea of still being difficult just so that they could kill James...
But no, he was too happy right now to be difficult.
((Ya... I'm out of ideas))

*Time Skip* (same day as the make up, mid afternoon)
Marina tugged on David's hand, leading him out into the sunshine that covered the beach. "Oh come on, it's no' tha' huge a deal," she laughed, hefting her surfboard under one arm. "People'll see the name 'Orycalcos' on my board 'n' think I'm jus' some other surfeh freak."
Wedging the board tail first in the sand, she tugged the white T-shirt she used a coverup over her head, putting it into a a waterproof bag that she slung over her shoulder like a backpack. It would stay with her while she surfed, seeing as she didn' have her wetsuit readily available.
She grinned across at David. "Ready t'give 'er a try?"
ReyaDawn- 01-11-2009
David was about to answer when his eyes caught just what she was wearing instead of her wetsuit.
A bikini... a kriffing bikini...
David felt his jaw drop slightly as he took in the full effect of just how amazing her tanned body looked in the swim suit. A few seconds later he realized that she was probably expecting an answer and snapped out of it. He shut his mouth quickly and nodded. Not trusting himself to open a mind link with her at this moment in time.
He was wearing undecorated black swiming trunks and a grey T-shirt on top. He didn't feel too comfortable in taking his shirt off...
But he totally would if she asked him too.
Mel- 01-11-2009
Marina bit the inside of her lower lip in an effort not to smile. She'd forgotten what effect her swimsuit might have on him. Casually, she stooped and slid the attacher strap around her ankle, tamping the Velcro down securely, before reaching over and attaching the strap from David's rental board to him.
She stood, one eyebrow lifted mischievously. "Y're starin', Porteh. See somethin' y'like?" Swiftly kissing him on the lips, she took off for the ocean, motioning him to follow.

"Y're starin', Porteh. See somethin' y'like?"
David blushed to high hell, knowing full well that he'd just been caught. She kissed him and ran off before he could defend himself and he followed after her, picking the board up carefully and carrying it under his arm like she was.
He caught up with her, trembling slightly. 'Funny... I thought everything in California was supposed to be warm. I knew those chermercials were lying to me the whole time.'
He grinned at her. 'What next, sensei?'
Mel- 01-11-2009
'Funny... I thought everything in California was supposed to be warm. I knew those commercials were lying to me the whole time.'
Marina laughed. "Lyin'? T'you? They can't lie, it'd be false adve'tisin', and they'd be sued outta theyah pants. What you saw, Misteh Porteh, was the ideal California, in high summeh."
She shrugged. "Still, it beats a Toron'o win'eh."
grinned at her. 'What next, sensei?'
She grinned back. 'We get wet.' Laying her board flat in the water, she lay aboard with practised ease, watching to make sure David got settled, before beginning to paddle out from the shore, staying slightly ahead so he'd be able to see what she was doing.
'Once the wave starts t'move your board, get'cha feet under you, and stand.' She instructed. 'Keep y'legs spread, y'knees bent, y'back straight, and y'arms t'eitheh side. Like y'would see on TV. The board has a natural centre o' gravity - it just has to stay flat on top of the water. Don' try t'control i' jus' ye' - focus on stayin' uprigh'.'
She glanced back, giving him a grin. Getcha boa'd turned around, mate. Fi'st wave's comin' in.' She paddled with her left hand only, turning the board to face the shore.
ReyaDawn- 01-11-2009
David listened to her instructions more then a little nervous. The chances of him being able to do as she said... on the first try... not very good. 'Marina are you sure this is a good-'She glanced back, giving him a grin. Getcha boa'd turned around, mate. Fi'st wave's comin' in.' She paddled with her left hand only, turning the board to face the shore.
David followed suit, turning his board around and putting his arms up in a push up position, ready to jump to his feet. 'Marina... if I drown then I want you to know that you and Alicia are my only successors. You get my house but Alicia gets all my wordly possessions... except my clothes. Malice gets my clothes because he hates the way I dress.'

'Marina... if I drown then I want you to know that you and Alicia are my only successors. You get my house but Alicia gets all my wordly possessions... except my clothes. Malice gets my clothes because he hates the way I dress.'
She flashed a reassuring smile his way. "You're not gonna drown, David, trus' me. The chances 'f death by surfin' are nil - tha's wha' the band on y'ankle's for. So y'can find the boa'd again an' use it f'r a floatation device."
There was no time to say more. The wave lifted the tail of Marina's board, and she pushed herself to her feet. She balanced with a slight wobble, grimacing at the lack of practice. Snowboarding just didn't compare.
ReyaDawn- 01-11-2009
David jumped to his feet as the water swelled under his board. For a good five seconds he was balanced correctly and he almost laughed from the feelings it gave him. Then he caught sight of Marina nearby, lost his balance and fell head first into the water below.
For a few seconds he couldn't see which way was up, and which way was down. The wave rolled him around before finally letting him float to the surface. He scrambled for his board and held on for dear life before finally relaxing.
He shook the water out of his hair and moved his bangs out of his eyes so that he could look at Marina with a smile. 'That was fun! Let's do it again!'
Mel- 01-12-2009
Marina waited until she was twenty metres from shore before turning and purposefully diving off the back of her board. The strap tugged against her ankle, and she bent double, catching onto the smooth wood, pulling herself above the waves before looking around for David.
He shook the water out of his hair and moved his bangs out of his eyes so that he could look at Marina with a smile. 'That was fun! Let's do it again!'
She laughed aloud, shaking her own dripping hair out of her eyes. 'Now y'see why I like it!' she answered, hoisting herself back onto the board and paddling closer to him. 'From what I saw, y'did great f'r the fi'st time,' she added encouragingly.
ReyaDawn- 01-16-2009
((Sorry, Mel! I've been busy... heh...))
David smiled at Marina as he hoisted himself back onto his board and shook his wet hair again, purposely trying to get Marina wet.
'Sure, I was doing fine for about two seconds. Then I saw you and lost focus.' He smiled at her shyly. 'Although... I don't really mind wiping out if its because of you. You're too beautiful for me to ever really be focused on something if we're together.'
He bagan to paddle out away from shore. 'You comin', Rina?'
Mel- 01-17-2009
She giggled as droplets from his hair splashed across her cheek. 'Hey!' She swiped the water away from her skin, grinning at him. 'I think I migh' jus' 'ave t'pay y'back f'that.''Sure, I was doing fine for about two seconds. Then I saw you and lost focus.' He smiled at her shyly. 'Although... I don't really mind wiping out if its because of you. You're too beautiful for me to ever really be focused on something if we're together.'
Marina blushed, not really sure how to respond to that. Sarcasm was a bad answer - potentially insulting and all that. She glanced down at the water, a shy smile of her own slipping onto her face.
He began to paddle out away from shore. 'You comin', Rina?'
She looked up, and headed off after him. 'Li'e y'gonna keep me from surfin' on a day like t'day!' Catching up, she cast a him a sly, sidelong glance. 'Or from observin' the scenery f'tha' matteh.'
